Job Specific Discussion

Khuduyane Quigley and our colleague from    presented the innovative system for the trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipes in 45-minute talks and subsequent question-and-answer sessions. Experts at Johannesburg Water were impressed by the simple handling of the solution, which also offers significant cost savings in the rehabilitation of critical transport lines. Particularly important crossings of rivers, roads and railway lines, as well as drinking water pipes in difficult-to-reach inner city areas, can thus be rehabilitated at a cost-effective and sustainable level.

In more detailed, expert discussions, interested parties were able to gain a more detailed picture of the technical and economic advantages of the system through specific projects that have already been completed. In this context, the participants were able to gain insight into the trenchless technology and information on how it can help with their specific problems.

Trenchless Solutions

  • Quick recommissioning minimizes the time of service interruption.
  • Fast installation with up to 400m. per hour.
  • Savings of up to 50% in areas difficult to access such as river and railroad crossings as well as densely populated areas.
  • As the product is fully manufactured and quality controlled at the factory; no on-site welding, no heating curing, steaming processes are required
  • Flexible pipe relining is less expensive than the traditional open cut method.
  • Low intervention in landscapes and protected areas as the excavation pits have comparably small dimensions.
  • Long insertion lengths of up to 2500m. reduce the number of construction pits.
  • The flexibility of the Primus Liner reduces the number of construction pits even further.
  • The small environmental footprint helps protect wildlife.
  • Reduced machine deployment leads to less noise and emissions.
  • No disruptions to road, railroad and shipping traffic.
